Australia is taking on Brazil in a friendly during the weekend of international play. Most teams are playing World Cup qualifying games this weekend but as the host country Brazil gets an automatic bid. No one expected this to be a fairly balanced match and Brazil is expected to ride the wave of momentum following their Confederation Cop victory to an easy win.
The new Barcelona signee, Neymar, was near the far side of the 18-yard box when he sent a cross across to the far side of the six-yard box where an awaiting Brazil player tried to head it home.
Instead he headed it and it hit the far post where it took a lucky bounce and landed at Brazil’s Jo’s foot. He tapped it in for the easy goal to give Brazil a 1-0 lead in the eighth minute of the game.
The most astonishing think about this video is how empty the stands are. You’d think the Brazil faithful would attend any Brazil game. Especially given the amount of goals that can be expected from Brazil today.
