Brazilian sensation Neymar is confident he will soon find the net for his new employers Barcelona.
Neymar, a €57 million summer signing from Santos, failed to score in an 8-0 drubbing of his former side on Friday.
The 21-year-old, however, provided two assists and struck the post in the friendly at the Nou Camp.
“It’s really great to play with these players. Cesc, Xavi, my idol Messi, a genius. I didn’t score, but that will come," Neymar said.
Barca coach Gerardo Martino feels Neymar did well given his current state of fitness.
“He still needs a few training sessions to be at his best physically, but Neymar did quite well," Martino said.
Santos boss Claudinei Oliveira was likewise impressed with Neymar.
“Neymar gave a great match. He’s still adapting to the new club, but despite that, he did very well,” he told reporters.
The Catalans clinched the Joan Gamper trophy courtesy of a Cesc Fabregas double, an own goal by Leonardo, and strikes from Lionel Messi, Alexis Sanchez, Pedro, Adriano and Jean Marie Dongou.
