Transfer News : Arsenal Close-In On Cazorla And Sahin, Barcelona Begin Neymar Chase
Arsenal are close to sealing deals for Santo Cazorla and Nuri Sahin, Galatasaray have expressed interest in Dimitar Berbatov, Barcelona hope to sign Neymar after the Olympics, rumors linking Ramirez to Liverpool have resurfaced and finally, Spartak Moscow is the latest club to be linked with Nicklas Bendtner.
Cazorla and Sahin Heading to Arsenal
If the leading media houses are to believed, Arsenal are closing in on two key targets – Santi Cazorla and Nuri Sahin .
The Gunners have reportedly tabled an offer of 16 million pounds for the Malaga midfielder Cazorla while also contacting Real Madrid over the possibility of a season-long loan for Nuri Sahin.
Cazorla - Departing Malaga for Arsenal?
THT Verdict: Considering Arsenal’s “near hits” with the Premier League trophy and the recent Robin van Persie saga that has unfolded, it only makes sense for the focus to be shifted to the next season. Following the signings of Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski, Cazorla and Sahin would be a real coup for Arsenal.
Cazorla can provide the variety in midfield by shuttling between central and wide midfield; this, coupled with his neat passing and good vision can strengthen the Arsenal attack while aiding the likes of Gervinho and Podolski.
Nuri Sahin has made just ten appearances in the Real Madrid shirt since his move from Borrusia Dortmund last season. It is a simple equation – lack of first team opportunities plus prospect of joining another club contesting in Europe next season means taking that flight from Madrid to London.
Sahin can replace the aging Arshavin with his menacing runs and trickery.Sahin could prove to be the perfect support cast for the striker and with age on his side, fitness and flair shouldn’t be a problem – the former having haunted Arsenal players for a long time now.
Galatasaray Eye Berbatov
According to a few reports and Bulgarian footballer Hristo Stoichov, Galatasaray have made a bid of 5 million pounds for Manchester United’s Dimitar Berbatov.
Dimitar Berbatov - Time to say good bye!
THT Verdict: It is about time Berbatov made his move from Manchester United. Since his 30 million pound move from Tottenham four seasons ago, the Bulgarian has had some fine moments with the Red Devils. However, the recent pairing of Rooney and Welbeck has hampered the Bulgarian international’s chances of gaining a starting berth under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Barcelona Begin Neymar Chase
Well, how many times do you see Barcelona and Real Madrid expressing interest in the same target? Not too often, isn’t it? Madrid made the first move in the pursuit of Neymar and now it looks like their rivals Barcelona have made contact with the Brazilian sensation too .
Will these two play together at Camp Nou?
THT Verdict: According to a few sources, the Catalans are hoping to complete signing of Neymar after the 2012 Olympics and if this does happen, then it certainly is a big boost for Tito’s side.
David Villa’s injury kept him out of Euros and with age catching up, he will have to be replaced by Barcelona. This could be the right time for them to make a move for young Neymar who could fit into the system predominantly comprising of young and talented graduates from La Masia.
Ramirez to Liverpool Rumors Resurface
According to the mirror, Liverpool have moved a step closer to sealing the signature of Uruguayan winger Gaston Ramirez after it was earlier reported that his agent had arrived in England for talks with an anonymous Premier League club.
THT Verdict: Swansea slapped a price tag of 15 million pounds on their player – Joe Allen. They then refused to let go of the young midfielder.Liverpool are nothing but lucky if they land Gaston Ramirez for around the same sum.
Ramirez is a highly talented player and would provide Liverpool with that firepower needed from midfield while fitting into Brendan Rodgers’ style of play. Additionally, his presence can benefit Andy Carroll who is currently bordering on Rodgers’ list of exodus from the Anfield club.
Bendtner Enters Spartak Radar
Following reported interest shown by AC Milan, Spartak Moscow is the latest club to have taken a closer look at Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner.
Time Up for Bendtner?
THT Verdict: For 7.5 million pounds, 24 year old Bendtner could be a bargain for whoever snaps him up at the end of the day. The Dane enjoyed a successful Euro tournament and has managed to keep his boat alive on the club front; which means the player still has something to offer given the chance.
Spartak could prove to be the best option out there – giving Bendtner plenty of first-team opportunities while making him the lead frontman in attack. This is a step up from slotting into the ranks at Arsenal and AC Milan where the arrival of new, high profile signings could shadow his progress.
