Rest of the Olympic footie
Senegal 2 Uruguay 0
LUIS SUAREZ was jeered at Wembley as Uruguay suffered a shock defeat.
Abdoulaye Ba was sent off for Senegal after a foul on Liverpool striker Suarez but Moussa Konate’s double blew Group A wide open.
Uruguay boss Oscar Tabarez insists he is not bothered by fans booing Suarez. He said: “No matter what the crowd does it is not a problem.”
Uruguay now need a result against GB in their last Group A game.
Spain 0 Honduras 1
SPAIN crashed out of the Olympics after their second defeat in a row.
The world and European champions were stunned by a seventh-minute strike from Honduran Jerry Bengtson in a bad-tempered match that saw 13 bookings — seven for the Spaniards, including Chelsea’s Juan Mata.
Brazil 3 Belarus 1
NEYMAR lit up Old Trafford as Brazil booked their place in the last eight.
The Santos ace, 20, put the favourites 2-1 ahead with a stunning free-kick.
Chelsea’s new signing Oscar sealed it in stoppage time.
Renan Bardini Bressan had given Belarus a shock lead before Alexandre Pato levelled.
Mexico 2 Gabon 0
SPURS rebel Giovani dos Santos struck twice to boost his hopes of a move.
The midfielder put Mexico in front after 63 minutes and then secured the points with a last-minute penalty.
Dos Santos, who was ignored by ex-Spurs boss Harry Redknapp, said last week he still wants to leave.
Egypt 1 New Zealand 1
WEST BROM’S Chris Wood put the skids under Egypt’s attempt to qualify for the next round with an early opener at Old Trafford.
Wood, 20, struck on 16 minutes but Mohamed Salah levelled before the break.
Egyptians must now beat Belarus to have a chance of qualifying from Group C.
South Korea 2 Switzerland 1
ARSENAL spare part Park Chu Young showed the club what they are missing with a top strike for South Korea in Group B at Coventry.
Park gave his side the lead with a diving header.
Innocent Emeghara replied for the Swiss before Cardiff recruit Kim Bo Kyung volleyed the winner.
Japan 1 Morocco 0
A LATE winner from Kensuke Nagai booked Japan’s quarter-final place at Newcastle’s St James Park.
He ran on to Hiroshi Kiyotake’s flicked pass to lob home six minutes from time in the Group D clash.
But Omar El Kaddouri almost snatched a draw for Morocco at the death.
