Chelsea could not only be on the hunt for a new manager at the end of the season but may also be forced to revise their transfer shopping list, as Bayern Munich prepare a colossal bid for long-term Blues target Neymar.

The 21-year-old has long been admired by the west London club who are keen to bolster their Brazilian contingent, with the likes of Oscar, David Luiz, Ramires and youngster Lucas Piazon all currently on the books at Stamford Bridge.

But it looks as though the Blues are set to miss out on bringing him to London, with runaway Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich preparing a gargantuan bid of £86million for the Santos star, according to Spanish source Sport.

And it’s a fee owner Roman Abramovich is unlikely to eclipse, with the Blues having to be wary of Uefa’s Financial Fair Play regulations, leaving the path clear for the Bavarian side, who earlier this year announced Chelsea managerial target Pep Guardiola would be taking the reins at the Allianz Arena at the end of the season.

Other Premier League clubs including Manchester United and Manchester City, as well as European giants Barcelona are also thought to be keen to prise Neymar away from Santos, but although it has been widely believed the youngster will remain in Brazil until at least the 2014 World Cup in Rio, Bayern’s potential offer could prove too good to resist.
